JFC Manufacturing Co. Ltd., based in Tuam, Co. Galway, ran a golf day in aid of Foundation Nepal and raised a whopping €20,000! A particular word of thanks to John Concannon and Karen Cross for their support with this.
Coláiste Iognáid transition year students
Transition year students from Coláiste Iognáid (‘the Jes’) School in Galway took the initiative in late 2009 to design, sell and distribute Christmas cards to raise funds for Foundation Nepal. They sold almost 2,000 cards, secured shelf space in 10 shops in Galway, and scooped the Young Volunteer of the Year Award at the Galway Mayor's Awards in January 2010! Read more >
Friends of Donagh Lynch
In honour of Donagh Lynch, a group of his friends ran the Dublin Marathon to raise funds for Foundation Nepal. They raised €5,952!
Joe and Rachel Wade
Joe Wade and his sister, Rachel, ran the 2009 Dublin Marathon for us and raised €1,280.
Mary O’Malley and the Thurles Nepal Fund
Mary O’Malley and the Thurles Nepal Fund raised €10,492 for Foundation Nepal from various events, including Mary’s 50th birthday party!
Tom Sheridan’s Bar, Galway
Tom Sheridan’s Golf Society in Knocknacarra, Galway held their annual golf outing in 2009 in Athenry and the raffle raised €695 for Foundation Nepal. A special thanks to Donal Barrett and Phil Watson for making this happen.
Irish Restaurant Association Golf Society and Shiva Gautam of Monty’s Restaurants
The Irish Restaurant Association Golf Society’s annual golf outing raised €8,000 for Foundation Nepal. This money will fund the extension of a primary school in Humla, Nepal. A big thank you to Shiva Gautam of Monty’s of Kathmandu and Monty’s of Rathgar, Gallo Wines, Doireann Carney, Ken Robertson of Paddy Power plc, Maria Roberts and Stephen Alkin of RTE, and Alan Shortt.
Galway County Council Staff Charity Fund
The Staff Charity Fund at Galway County Council donated €3,000 to support Foundation Nepal’s work.
