Codes of Good Practice
Foundation Nepal welcomes the fact that good practice, governance and transparency are currently hot topics in the charity sector. In line with this, there is a growing emphasis on codes of good practice within the sector.
In July 2009, Foundation Nepal became a signatory of the Dóchas Code of Conduct on Images and Messages, which is a set of guiding principles to assist Irish non-governmental development organisations to select images and messages for their communications that maintain full respect for human dignity. If you have any comments on our choice of images and messages please contact Amber at amber.walsh@foundation-nepal.org. Read more.
In May 2010, Foundation Nepal also signed up to the Comhlámh Code of Good Practice for Volunteer Sending Organisations, which is a comprehensive set of guidelines for sending volunteers overseas that focuses on areas such as child/vulnerable adult protection, health and safety, Garda vetting, volunteer training and so on. In addition, we have signed up to the Dóchas Code on Corporate Governance.
