Mission

Foundation Nepal enables the most disadvantaged in remote rural and mountainous areas of Nepal to work their way out of the poverty trap and become more self-sufficient – giving a hand up, not a hand out.

We apply a business approach to devising solutions to the issues facing the developing world. Our mission is to develop a holistic solution to end extreme poverty and hunger in remote rural communities, which can be rolled out and successfully implemented across the world.

We support a culture of volunteerism and we encourage Irish citizens to volunteer with us, both in Ireland and Nepal. We also engage in development education as a vital means of increasing awareness and understanding of the complex challenges facing the developing world, and to mobilise people to take action to reduce inequality and poverty, and to support our work.

Founded, managed and governed by senior business people, we focus on efficiency, return on investment, long-term solutions and value for money. We are committed to best practice in all areas of our work, and to delivering the highest standards of quality and professionalism in everything that we do. We set ourselves clear targets, and provide transparent financial and operational information to our supporters, so that our donors know where their money goes and what it achieves.
