Hope in the Himalayas Exhibition

Foundation Nepal is running a photographic exhibition about the Nepali Himalayas during November 2010 to raise awareness about Nepal. Make sure to stop by and take a look!

Aptly entitled ‘Hope in the Himalayas’, the exhibition is a colourful celebration of life in Nepal as seen through the eyes of development workers, an Irish NGO, locals, professional photographers and trekkers. Over 45 photographs will be on display from 23 professional and amateur photographers, including new work by the renowned American fine art documentary photographer Kevin Bubriski.
Foundation Nepal works in partnership with highly disadvantaged local communities in Humla, a remote region of the Himalayas in northwest Nepal, supporting them to work their way out of poverty through food production, micro-finance and micro-business. We also provides healthcare and educational support where it is needed most.

The exhibition has been organised to raise awareness about Nepal and particularly cast the spotlight on the culturally rich, but chronically impoverished, remote mountainous areas of Nepal that rarely feature in the media. The main focus of the exhibition is the Nepali Himalayas, but images from other parts of this diverse country are also included.
A big thank you to Irish Aid for hosting the exhibition and to all the exhibitors: Aadit Shrestha, Andrew Chandler, Balkrishna Sharma, Cullen Allen, Denise O’Donovan, Dorothy Beere, Elizabeth Carolan, Finbarr O’Rourke, Hement Bhandari, Hu O’Reilly, Imelda Flattery, Irene Tanner, John Lee, Juraj Holkovic and Noelle Murtagh, Kevin Bubriski, Niamh Sheehan, Nicky Deasy, Nirmala Adhikari, Penny Lane, Peter Dockrell, Roisin Waite and Thomas McDonagh
