My name is Radha, and my baby son Anil’s life was saved by Foundation Nepal’s health post.

Our village suffers from many illnesses, and children become ill frequently. There are no toilets, and everyone must use the open field. A few weeks ago, when I came home late in the evening from farm work, I found my baby son Anil, who is 18 months old, was ill. He had diarrhoea, with a slight fever. We decided to take him to the district hospital which is a five hour walk away, hoping that there we would get the best treatment. We paid 380R (around €3.80) for medicines, which we had to borrow as this is a lot of money for us. We gave Anil the medicine each day, but two days later he had become so weak that he would not eat or drink, and I was afraid he would die.

Our neighbours advised us to bring the baby to the Foundation Nepal health post in our village, where the health worker gave us different medicines which only cost us 135R (about €1.35), and four days later, Anil had made a full recovery. Foundation Nepal’s health post saved Anil’s life, and provides health services which are in our village, and at a much better price than the hospital. We are very grateful for this service.
